MANDATORY FREE ONLINE AAU SCORE-KEEPING & LIBERO TRACKING COURSE

EACH PLAYER, COACH and ASSISTANT COACH ON THE ROSTER MUST BE FAMILIAR AND/OR HAVE COMPLETED THE AAU SCORE-KEEPING AND LIBERO TRACKING COURSE.

Tournament Series Structure including Grand Prix

  1. All teams, players and coaches are welcome regardless of their affiliation. Team registration and exact roster must be completed using AES.  Rosters will be verified at the coaches’ meeting prior to play commencing.
  2. Teams will provide work crews during other matches when they would normally be “off”.  There is a set schedule for teams to play and ref, and they will also have matches in which they are off, unless they are in a 3 team pool in which case, there will be a short break after pool play is complete.
  3. Work crews will be made of 2 players acting as line judges, 1 player as scoreboard flipper/operator 2 players at the score table assisted by a rostered coach or assistant coach will keep a scoresheet and 1 player acting as Libero tracker. A down referee is not required, but is encouraged as a practice for players to learn duties and rules of the game.
  4. All players must be familiar and having completed the AAU score-keeping and libero tracking online free course (see link/button below).
  5. We will have qualified paid up referees for all games.
  6. We will have standard format for 3, 4 and 5 team pools as far as the play and ref schedule goes.
  7. Spikes™ medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each division.


Not part of Grand Prix


  1. Initial seeding prior to the first few tournaments shall be based on feedback from coaches and club directors about the strength of their teams.
  2. Teams will be moved up or down based on their performance in the prior tournament. The 2 Teams finishing at the bottom of divisions shall be moved to the lower division for the next tournament unless there are a significant number of teams that finished higher that are not attending the next tournament.
  3. For teams that join the tournament structure midway through the series, only the age group of the team will be considered when seeding the team into a tournament.
  4. U11-U12 will play with Light/Soft balls but on same net heights as other age groups.
  5. Spikes™ medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each division.

ACCEPTANCE POLICY/CRITERIA

Teams will be accepted as payment is received by Spikes™ and as space allows. Registration DOES NOT guarantee acceptance to the tournament. 

Acceptance will be confirmed via email.

ROSTER DISCLAIMER

 ALL adults on rosters MUST complete and clear a background check (JVA/USAV/AAU   screening accepted) to participate in any of Spikes™ Colorado Series tournaments. 


Proof of clear background screening and rosters are due the Monday prior to each events.  

REFUND POLICY

We run a strict No Refunds Policy Under Any Circumstance once a team has been accepted after payment has been received and confirmation email has been sent.
