AAU sanctioned Spikes™ Grand Prix

Friday & Saturday March 27th/28th - U14 U15 U16 U17

This 2 day Grand Prix tournament will be taking place at the Gold Crown Foundation facility in Lakewood, Colorado.

Tournament Structure:


  1. All teams, players and coaches are welcome regardless of their affiliation. Team registration and exact roster must be completed using AES.  Rosters will be verified at the coaches’ meeting prior to play commencing.
  2. Teams will provide work crews during other matches when they would normally be “off”.  There is a set schedule for teams to play and ref, and they will also have matches in which they are off, unless they are in a 3 team pool in which case, there will be a short break after pool play is complete.
  3. Work crews will be made of 2 players acting as line judges, 1 player as scoreboard flipper/operator 2 players at the score table assisted by a rostered coach or assistant coach will keep a scoresheet and 1 player acting as Libero tracker. A down referee is not required, but is encouraged as a practice for players to learn duties and rules of the game.
  4. All players must be familiar and having completed the AAU score-keeping and libero tracking online free course (see link/button under the Event policy tab).
  5. We will have qualified paid up referees for all games.
  6. We will have standard format for 3, 4 and 5 team pools as far as the play and ref schedule goes.
  7. Spikes™ medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each division.



Winners receive a FREE* entry into the AAU National Championships in Orlando, FL, the West Coast Championships in Las Vegas, NV, or the Volleyball Festival in Phoenix, AZ.

*Winning teams in age divisions with 12 or more teams will receive a free entry fee to the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships, the West Coast AAU Championships, or the Volleyball Festival.  In divisions with less than 12 teams, the entry fee will be discounted. 

All teams must register for the event by the appropriate deadline.  The National and West Coast Championships, as well as the Volleyball Festival are open to any team, no qualifying required.  For complete rules and guidelines for Super Regional or Grand Prix events, please visit www.aauvolleyball.org.

AAU Membership Guidelines:

•             This event is licensed by the Amateur Athletic Union of the U.S., Inc.

•             All participants must have current AAU membership numbers before competition begins (pending status is not acceptable).  Visit www.aauvolleyball.org to obtain membership (club, non-athlete and athlete membership required).

•             Membership is not included in the event entry fee.

•             BE PREPARED:  Adult and Non-Athlete memberships are no longer instant and cannot be applied for at the event.  Please allow up to 10 days for membership to be processed.
